Peter Ustinov played Poirot in five full-lenth films / hral v piatich celovečerných filmoch:

I cant say I dont like these movies, in contrast - they are all amusing, rather faithful to original (Im quite purist), with grandiose decor, although not always in locations after novel (Evil under the sun takes place not in UK), great actors, camera... But by all respect to Peter Ustinov as actually great actor, he is not for me Hercule Poirot. First thing first he doesnt look like Poirot, too tall, too robust. By accent humoristic side he sometimes glides down to grotesque if not even caricature of Poirot. Not to mention his Hastings (Jonathan Cecil) is travesty of originaly intended character.
Interest: In Therteen at Dinner Inspector Japp was played by David Suchet, who alone said "It was the worst Japp ever". /
Nemôžem povedať, že by sa mi tieto filmy nepáčili, naopak - sú zábavné, dosť verné predlohe (som purista), majú veľkorysú výpravu, hoci sa neodohrávajú vždy tam, kde predloha (Zlo pod slnkom sa neodohráva v UK), dobrí herci, kamera... Ale pri všetkej úcte k Peterovi Ustinovovi, ako k veľkému hercovi, on pre mňa nie je Poirot. V prvom rade nevyzerá ako Poirot, privysoký, príliš robustný. Pri zdôrazňovaní humornej stránky občas skĺzne do grotesky, ak už nie do karikatúry Poirota. Ani nespomínam jeho Hastingsa (Jonathan Cecil), ktorý je paródiou na pôvodne zamýšľanú postavu.
Zaujímavosť: V Smrti lorda Edgwarea hral inšpektora Jappa David Suchet, ktorý sa o tom vyjadril, že to bol "najhorší Japp zo všetkých".

Albert Finney
played Poirot only once - in Murder on the Orient Express (1974). Star casted movie, grandios decorated movie with beautiful costumes, if not with cult status surely film clasics, with six Oscar nominations (won only one for the Best supporting actress - Ingrid Bergman). Who could not like it? And I like Fineys approach to Poirots character too, he is rather more impulsive, temperamental, sometimes even exalted and reather less modest and disctinctive as his descendant David Suchet, but surely Finney is pretty good as Poirot. /
hral Poirota iba raz - vo Vražde v Orient Exprese (1974). Hviezdne obsadený film s veľkorysou výpravou a krásnymi kostýmami, ak aj nie kultový, určite filmová klasika, so šiestimi nomináciami na Oscara (vyhral len jedného - za najlepšiu herečku vo vedľajšej úlohe - Ingrid Bergman). Komu by sa nepáčil? A mne sa prístup Alberta Finneyho k postave Poirota páči tiež, je o dosť viac výbušný, temperamentný, niekedy až exaltovaný a o dosť menej decentný a distingvovaný, ako jeho následník David Suchet, ale určite je to veľmi dobrý Poirot.

For many fans (me inclusive) embodiment of Hercule Poirot David Suchet played Poirot for unbelievable twenty five years (1989 - 2014) in same named series Poirot produced by British ITV, which has total 70 episodes run for either 50 or 90-100 minutes.
I think that many of Agatha Christie fans consider David Suchet as the right Poirot. The actor alone spent lot of time by studying the character, read all the books with him and made notices about his look, speach and manners to the tiniest details. For his portrayal of Hercule Poirot won David Suchet Royal Televison Society Award Life Achievement Award as very deserved ackwoledgement of his work for 25 years. /
Pre mnohých fanúšikov (vrátane mňa) je David Suchet stelesnením Hercula Poirota. David Suchet hral túto postavu neuveriteľných dvadsaťpäť rokov (1989 - 2013) v rovnomennom seriáli Poirot z produkcie britskej ITV, ktorý má spolu 70 epizód trvajúcich buď 70, alebo 90-100 minút.
Myslím, že pre mnochých fanúšikov Agathy Christie je David Suchet tým pravým Poirotom. Sám herec strávil veľa času štúdiom postavy, čítal všetky knihy s ním a robil si poznámky o jeho vzhľade, reči a spôsoboch do najmenších detailov. Za stvárnenie Hercula Poirota získal David Suchet ako skutočne zaslúžené ocenenie jeho práce počas 25 rokov cenu Kráľovskej televíznej spoločnosti Life Achievement Award (Cena za celoživotné dielo)
